Ladbrokes live marketing

bet in play, Ladbrokes, Portfolio, video streaming No Comments

We created a simple marketing widget for Ladbrokes that has the simple aim of driving more customers into live betting. The application takes in a live feed of all events and highlights scores and what’s available to watch through the Ladbrokes TV live streaming service. The application achieved it’s objectives and had a material impact on the bottom line.

Sportingbet in:play

We completed an upgrade to sportingbet’s live betting application in September 2008 that we are very proud of. The application has some nice features such as personalised favourites. But we’ve added a few more that have really got the punters excited.

The settlement feed is simple but very important for a certain kind of customer – it lets you know immediately when a market has been settled. The other feature is live video and we’ve pushed the boat out on this one. The application has a great integrated player with countdowns and all of the rich functionality you’d expect. There is a pop-up player that links back to the main event. But best of all is the “Supersize” feature. It plays full size video in the main window and not in a pop-up. On large monitors this just feels right.

The best video implementation in a sportsbook? We’d like to think so but await challenges in the comments below!

Live betting in 2009? Just a warm up for 2010…

I haven’t posted anything of any interest to the blog in some time for the simple reason that we’ve been busy building and improving BetstreamTM, our live betting and sportsbook UI framework.

2009 saw live betting come of age. 2010 will see it mature nicely and we’ll see it really start to fire on all cylinders. The real time web is here and in play betting fits in nicely with web developments. We’ll see a lot of innovation, a better customer experience all round and hopefully increased revenues as a result.

What’s it been like for Boolabus? We did a lot of good foundation work in 2009 on the Betstream framework and we are now working on extending it in interesting ways and onto other platforms. Read more

Podcast – Innovation in Gaming

live betting No Comments

There are thousands of podcasts available focusing on all areas of business and the broader entertainment sector. The betting and gaming sector has never really had something that can be held up as a serious contribution to the podcasting world. That is until now. Ronan Tighe has been publishing a series of interviews with the good, the bad and the ugly of betting and gaming. I qualified in the latter category I think. Read more

Betfair Predicts: Raising brand awareness in the USA

social gaming 1 Comment

Betfair have been attracting attention for what is a very simple idea – Betfair Predicts. Anyone involved in sportsbetting knows the power of commercial exchanges and their ability to predict event outcomes (OK, except on horses, greyhounds and occasional 4-4 footie matches). Read more

Ladbrokes Live Betting Marketing

We recently launched a nice little live application that drives punters to live betting and really highlights the events with streaming video. It may not seem like rocket science but it’s a smart little app and it’s doing exactly what it set out to do. It’s live on some of Ladbrokes’ European sites.

On the subject of Ladbrokes, I rarely take notice of banner ads, especially for gambling but the jockeycam video embedded in this banner on the right caught my eye.
